Special Entry arrangements for the JEJU Island

※ Jeju offers a very flexible entry/departure policy, which allows visitors to stay without a visa for up to 30 days.
  • Duration of stay: Up to 30 days
  • Permitted area / range: JEJU island
  • Conditions of entry: Those that arrive directly into JEJU island by flights or ships.
  • Special entry arrangements for JEJU island is denied to nationals of the following 11 countries.
    - Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Cuba, Syria, Macedonia, Palestine, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Ghana

Electricity

The electricity supply commonly used in Korea is the 220-volt 60Hz system. Because most newly built hotels and houses have the 220-volt wiring installed, you are advised to check your electronic equipment beforehand.

Climate

The annual average temperature in JEJU Island is relatively low, compared with other places at the same latitude, due to cold winter seasons, an influence of continental climates, and summers that do not become too hot due to cool oceanic currents. The average annual temperatures of JEJU are reported to be 15.5℃ and 21.5℃of June's average temperatures.

Currency

The Korean local currency is the Won. Major foreign currencies that can be exchanged at banks, hotels, and the airport include the US Dollar, Japanese Yen, Euro, and UK Sterling. Most hotels, restaurants, and shops accept major international credit cards including Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Master Card, and JBC. Foreign-issued ATM cards may have limited use

ATM (Automated Teller Machines)

Travelers who carry internationally recognized credit cards can get a cash advance in Korea Won from Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) installed at airports, major hotels, department stores, subway stations and tourist attractions. ATMs are in operation 24 hours a day. Most large stores, hotels and restaurants in Korea accept major international credit cards. However it is advisable to carry some cash, since many smaller establishments and stores are unlikely to accept credit cards.

Cell Phone Retal

You may rent a cell phone at the INCHEON International Airport. Users can rent a handset and pay rental and call charges upon returning the phone. Applicants require identification, credit card, and a service contract (available at the booth).
